Federal Appropriations Requests for Trails

April 10, 2019

Do you enjoy trails on Forest Service, BLM, or National Parks lands? Want to see local communities continue to benefit from planning assistance for rivers, trails, and conservation assistance? Want to see states and local communities continue to bank treasured places for the long-time enjoyment of the public through the Land and Water Conservation Fund?

Our national partners recently released senate budget appropriations requests covering all this and more.

Following the lead of our partners working on the federal level, the Oregon Trails Coalition submitted a list of budget appropriations requests directly to Senator Merkley's office.

Take a look at the national letter to see what's most important to you. Then reach out to the Senate Budget Appropriations Committee (particularly the Subcommittee on the Interior and the Environment including Oregon's Senator Jeff Merkley) and/or the Oregon Congressional Delegation to let them know you value investments in trails and related programs: Oregon U.S. Senators, Oregon U.S. Representatives.
